I came to AI as a nontechnical person who kept asking questions. I admired what the experts could do. Then, little by little, I started doing things I had thought were beyond me.

Back in the GPT-3 days, I was working in sales management. I used AI to help write code that searched the internet for the kinds of customers I wanted to reach. I had a business problem, an idea, and enough curiosity to keep going until something worked.

Then came Cursor, Replit, and v0. Each gave me more confidence to say, “We can grow this company through technology and AI.” For years, I’ve been quietly building and testing that thesis inside a real company, putting the playbooks to work and proving they work in practice.

I spent years learning these tools. I thought that head start would last longer. Now I’m watching other people discover they can build things, solve problems, and take on work they once needed an expert to do.

I recognize the feeling. Once you get AI to do something you thought was impossible, you start asking, “What else?” One useful result turns into a reason to keep learning.

That excites me. It also changes where I can be useful. As the tools become more capable, the work shifts toward understanding the business: what’s getting stuck, what would actually make a difference, and how to get a change working in practice.
